Chimoio (Mozambique) : in a pink world

S 19°06.623' E 033°28.337' (altitude: 702m)
The next morning it was still cooking outside! It got a bit more comfortable once we regained altitude in the foothills of the escarpment along which the Zimbabwe-Mozambique border was created. The area is wild and there are hundred of kilometers between small towns. In Switzerland, in contrast, you always have a house in sight when on an open road. At the next town of sorts (400 km down the road) we checked into a new backpacker after having checked out the hotel on the main plaza. Our room was pink, the kitchen was pink, the bathroom was pink and the owner was dressed in pink. Her dress, sandals, headband, nail polish and necklace were all pink. And if you haven’t guessed by now, the place was called ‘The Pink Papaya’.
