Livingstone (Zambia) : Victoria Falls and other attractions
S 17°50.878' E 025°51.246' (altitude: 933 metres)
The border is not far from Catima and the crossing was no problem. First make sure that you’ve paid the Namibian Road tax (US$15) and be ready to pay a Carbon Emissions Tax on the other side. 21st century bribes or organized crime, I just hope that the money gets used accordingly. Then you cross the Zambezi on a new bridge and have 200 kilometres of new road to yourself. Livingstone seems to have boomed since I was there fifteen years ago. The nearby Victoria Falls are still spectacular and if merely watching them doesn’t impress you enough there is now a lot you can do to boost your Vic falls experience: Bungy jump them, raft them, speed boat them, microlite them, helicopter them etc. etc. Give it a few years and there might be a Disney Falls Amusement Park to really cater for all tastes and offer everything to those who visit one of Africa’s greatest natural sights…
