Ebolowa (Cameroon) : towards the Equator

N02°55.466’ E011°09.735’
With the bike loaded up we went to the embassy area of Yaounde at 14h00 to pick up the last visa. It was ready as promised and soon we were on the road out of Yaounde – due south. With time restrictions on the visas, difficult road conditions ahead and uncertainties concerning the DRC elections at the end of July we didn’t want to loose any time. We were exited too as we had now changed the Michelin ‘Afrique Nord’ map for the ‘Afrique Centre et Sud’, although we knew that in the coming weeks we will often remember the following comment on distances in the legend: In Africa distances can be only of relative value! Here however, still being on good tar, we covered the 180 km to Ebolowa in 3 hrs.
