Kpalimé (Togo) : in Togo’s garden
N 06°55.208' E 000°37.712'
Winding our way over the hills into Togo was a panoramic freat and equally pleasant was getting back into Francophone Africa. Like magic there was again ambiance, smiles and the general feel of being welcome. Red flowering trees, two meter high grass, a green carpet right up to the road’s edge and tall trees on either side of the road forming a kind of tunnel made us slow right down to make the miles last; it felt like a drive-through botanical garden. The waterfalls were still a bit dry, but at one check-point we got a good tip of a scenic road up into the mountains from where the views were fantastic. The wet season is on its way, however, as every few days there are heavy downpours in the afternoon.
