Luanda (Angola) : encounter with a Harley at the Club Naval

As a result of the thirty-year civil war, Angola now has to import almost everything and has made Luanda one of the world’s ten most expensive cities (in a country where most people need to manage on two dollars a day?!); and the traffic jams are also on par with London and Paris. We had thus planned to only take a quick look and move on. However, we met Peter and Kay who have been traveling the world on a (yes) Harley Davidson for the past ten years (returning to Oz once a year) and had just come up through Angola from Namibia. With a reason to stay we also pitched our tent in the grounds of the Club Naval from where the view across the large bay and natural harbour of Luanda is quite spectacular. Traveling in opposite directions, it was a great opportunity to exchange route information.
